Post-Review of Nike+Human Race Singapore 2009

The Nike Human Race 10k Singapore is over and personally, I feel that it's better than last year's race. Personally, this year's race was a little short compared to last year's. This 10km is just another training for me, without any competitors. I was really looking forward to running with Hsih Ing, Jun Yang and Barney. But we got seperated because we didn't meet up before the race. Baggage area was kinda untidy before the race. People were blocking my way even before the race started and hey, the music was kinda too loud at the starting line. My eardrums were throbbing when I went nearer to the "platform". The horn sounded and off I go. Of course, not immediate. The crowd was taking their own sweet time so I had to minus off 1-2 minutes. Either way, I got flat out at 2km. As usual. AT the 5km mark, my timing was 25minutes and that's not too bad. In the end, I took water twice and of course walked around 300-400m because my chest hurt. Along the way, Elmo said Hi to me and yes, another SGRunner saw me too but did not managed to say Hi to me because I overtook him. Haha.. Either way, it was a HOT, GRUELLING race especially on the expressway.

Mr. Sun smiled at me throughout the race and music invited me to sprint the last 2km. I know, it's not good to sprint the last part. But oh well, I did a nice timing of 50 minutes. According to my watch, it's 48 minutes =) I think the race route is fun although there are many curves around. Oh yes, always go for the shortest distance possible! Cut tangent to the curve then you can save a few seconds!!! The finisher medal is prettier this year and Barney met up with me afetr the race. We became friends during the Nike Race Expo =) Also, Hsih Ing and Jun Yang were kinda behind me in the race and we didn't have the fate to see each other after the race due to miscommunication through the cell.

Sarah did her first 10km and I am glad I inspired and motivated to try out running. She totally detested running when I first met her. She finished in approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. That's good enough for her =) Here are some photographs. Sadly, there is not one with guys =/
