Great Eastern Women's 10KM Trainings

was a competitor of the GE Womens' 10km race that was held today in The Padang. Unfortunaely, I was struck down with a fever. Either way, here is my training timetable for the preparation of GE Womens's race.

On 26 October 09, I did upslope 4x150m in Bedok Reservoir. Coach wanted me to do thrice but I didn't hear properly. Anyway, I am beginning to like slope workouts. It's tiring but I feel good in the end because hey, my thighs sure get firmer. Haha.. Either way, training upslopes makes you the nemesis of Newton since he discovered gravity. The angle of your leg should be an ideal 90 degree angle or at least, a nice stride with the strain of pulling yourself up with more force than on flat ground such as the track. Many runners get deferred when they heard that they are going to do upslope for their workouts. I don't deny that Lactate finds you quicker but hey, it goes away quicker too. That is, to me. I did 5.6km while running to and from the slope.

On 27 October 09, I trained in Siloso Beach on the sand in the water. Running against the resistance makes it tough and really breathless. I know I looked like a fool running around the waters in Sentosa and there WERE people sitting down and watching me race up and down against the current. My friend said the guys said they were impressed that I was fast. Well, obviously. Hardly anyone runs on the beach when there are more fun games out there plus suntanning. In my prolonged trainings in the future, people will think I just came back from Service Nationale. Spending around one hour and a half under the Sun is asking for a contract with skin cancer. I saw a hunk wearing the NAVY singlet so at least I know I am not alone now. Haha..

On 28 October 09, I had POL-ITE Roadrace at NYP and yay! Temasek Polytechnic won for the Girls' event! I ran 4.6km so that is counted as a form of training too, I guess =)

This is the end of my trainings or the 10km. Of course, all trainings before this were also done as preparation. Then again, I do train everyday except sometimes.
