Singapore (28th June 2009) The Asian Youth Games Torch Relay was held in the Pasir Ris Elias Community Centre, where I had a hard time finding since I don't stay around that area. Just for your information, the place is in Elias Road. A walk along the Pasir Ris path is pumping with adrenaline as we made our way with Minister Teo Chee Hean to the starting point. Many photgraphs were taken and Team Temasek Track and Field kept stealing the limelight, including me.
The passing of the torch was handed to Minister Teo from a couple of athletes and there we go. It was rather a jog than a run since the pavement was too small and it was overcrowded. The torch was passed on from the Minister Teo to residents to kids. All in all, our track and field team ran a total of 1.5km all the way back to Pasir Ris Elias Community Centre. The Asian Youth Games Route of Excellence shirt was also give to us. The carnival marks the end of the run but the start of Singapore's new direction in the Games!
